Said Cezar Said Zada

How did an Afghan guy get the name ‘Cezar’?…

Said Cezar was born in Afghanistan in 2000 one year before the US invasion. His father became a Christian in Germany and no one knows how. When Cezar was born, his parents were fleeing Kabul to escape the Taliban and his mother went into labor in a village in the mountains, but needed a cesarean section. His father was a surgeon and could perform the operation, but with no medical equipment the situation was very dangerous, the boby was not breathing and his wife was bleeding, so he dipped the baby in water and cried out to God in Jesus name. As soon as this happened, the baby started crying and his wife became a Christian that moment.

Being raised in Afghanistan, Cezar was constantly surrounded by Muslims and had to figure out why he believed the Bible.

When the Taliban took over Afghanistan, Cezar and his family thought they were facing the end and were kind of preparing to die when an Afghan pastor provided a way to for his family and many other Afghan Christians to move to a refugee camp in Abu Dhabi.
Through a mutual friend in Seattle, the Al-Ma’idah initiative heard about this group of Afghan Christians and decided to sponsor them to move to Seattle, to help their fellow Christians and to get help in sharing the gospel with the 50,000 Afghans now living in the Puget Sound area.

Cezar now works for Al-Ma’idah helping us start an Afghan Church, helping our 10 Afghan Christian families navigate life in the US and is helping engage Afghan Muslims with love and truth in the two major Afghan languages: Dari and Pashto.
