Application Cover Letter
To the reviewing authority.
My name is James Rayment. I am the director of a Seattle based 501c3: The Al-Ma’idah Initiative.
I am writing to you in representation of a coalition of churches, individuals and a business, committed to the wellbeing of 126 individual Afghan Christians currently residing in the Abu Dhabi Humanitarian City.
We are thankful that these individuals were evacuated from Afghanistan, but being a religious minority in a refugee camp still puts these people in grave danger.
Our plan is to bring all 126 people to Seattle, where we are prepared to provide financing, accommodation, food, language acquisition training and assistance in finding employment.
We are committed to these people, who as Christians we consider our own family and are prepared to provide all the support necessary to make them integrated members of our community, our city and our country.
We are prepared to provide financial support, but much of the support we offer are things like accommodation, food, transportation and most importantly relationships with the wider community.
That is why we are requesting that the person in this application be both allowed humanitarian parole in the US and be specifically sent to Seattle, so that they may become part of our community.
The full list of individuals we have identified and plan to provide for is attached on the next page.
Signed.
