Jim Overmyer - Operations Director

It all started when…

Jim and Alanna moved to the Seattle area at the beginning of 2020 after Jim finished an enlistment with the Coast Guard. They have gotten involved quickly in reaching the nations that are represented in the area, with Gospel truth and love. They like living on their boat on Lake Union, having their marina neighbors over to play board games, serving at Downtown Cornerstone Church, hiking, and representing Jesus well by making intentional friendships with Muslims in the Seattle area.

Jim is raising support to come on staff with The Al-Ma’idah Initiative to work as our Operations Director on a part time basis. He will be in charge of making sure our events go smoothly, coordinating volunteers and interns, communicating with our church partnerships, and making sure our Muslim friends are well cared for and connected to Christians who love them and share the Gospel with them.

When Jim isn’t helping The Al-Ma’idah Initiative, he is a student at Seattle University studying International Business. Jim hopes to use his degree to help Christian missions agencies start businesses that are beneficial to the communities they operate in and that facilitate church planting efforts among some of the people that are least reached by the Gospel in the world.
