In December 2021 with the help of 15 Puget Sound Churches, we began the process of sponsoring an entire network of House Churches in Afghanistan to move to Seattle, in order to form an Afghan Church, with Afghan leaders here in Washington State.

All of our Afghans are now out of the camp, many went to Canada, but we now have 5 Afghan Christian families here in Seattle.

We are preparing to welcome around 95 Afghan Christians to Seattle and we expect the first ten people to be arriving in September 2022.
These Afghans are all part of the same house church network and had to flee Afghanistan when the Taliban took over.

Our hope is to keep the entire church together, both helping them and bringing in them in as gospel partners for the advancement of God’s kingdom in Seattle!

A group of churches, individuals put money together to file these applications and have a plan for housing and are working together to help these Afghans thrive when they arrive.

Now that some of our Afghans have been approved to come to Seattle, we are now entering Phase 3 of this effort.

Our focuses during this phase are:

Prayer - While we have had some progress, we will not consider this over until every single person in the Afghan House Church Network is with us in Seattle, or has another safe place to call home.
We also realize that helping a large number of new people survive and thrive in a new place in not a small undertaking, however we have ALREADY seen God do the impossible!

Co-ordination of efforts - At a base level we are going to need to make sure everyone has housing and language.

We are also focusing on trying to locate everyone within a viable distance of the future light rail stations, so they have easy access to meet each other and to commute to work.

We will also be focused on finding the right meeting space and helping them organize their church.

Our goal is to raise $200,000 to invest in our Afghans, in order to make them thriving members of our society.

  • We want to hire Pastor Luke Anwari and Move him to Seattle to lead the church he planted in Afghanistan and help him build resources for Afghan Christians in the Diaspora

  • We want to make sure each family has a provider who has a good job, which may mean helping sponsor job training.

  • We have 32 School age Children, who we want to send to private Christian schools in the area.

  • We have 8 college age students, who we would like help finish their education.

  • We will inevitably run into more costs over time, however, with this initial funding we believe we will have the ability to launch our people into a life that is not only self sustaining, but can then help sustain other Afghan Christians as they move from other parts of the US and regroup in Seattle.
